Безобразное существо, смахивающее на волка, отбросило его, но Ронин, наложивший чары на свою одежду, чтобы защититься от непогоды, оказался твердым орешком. Коготь зацепил плащ, чтобы порвать его, но сам обломился.
Серая шерсть встала дыбом, тварь взвыла. Когда-то Ронин сделал открытие — заклинание, не раз спасшее ему жизнь.
Изумрудные глаза ослепила какофония света. Тварь нырнула обратно во тьму, бесполезно сражаясь с яркими вспышками.
Отползя от чудовища, Ронин поднялся. Если он побежит, то подставит монстру спину. Безрассудно — его защитные чары уже ослабели. Пара ударов — и когти разорвут чародея на мелкие кусочки.
Огонь неплохо расправился с вурдалаком на острове, и почему бы этому сильному заклинанию снова не помочь Ронину? Он прошептал слова…
